Recap: Mountain Ridge Miners vs. Keyser Golden Tornado
The Mountain Ridge Miners posted their closest win yet this season on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 52-50 victory over Keyser. The win made it back-to-back wins for Mountain Ridge.
Mountain Ridge got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Owen McGeady out in front who scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Ian Duncan, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds.
Mountain Ridge's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-6. As for Keyser, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.
Mountain Ridge will head out on the road to challenge Northern at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Keyser, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Moorefield at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (Moorefield is ranked 100th, while Keyser is ranked 81st).
