Volleyball Recap: Salem Comes Up Short

Salem lost against Kellam back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Sundevils came up short against the Knights, falling 3-0. The Sundevils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-17, 25-13.

Leading Kellam to victory were Tatianna Villarreal and Giulia Alison. Villarreal had nine digs and three aces, while Alison had five digs and one assist. Those nine digs gave Villarreal a new career-high. Stephanie Martillo also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Salem's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Kellam, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Salem will square off against rival Ocean Lakes at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Kellam is set to take on their familiar foe Princess Anne at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
