Preview: Marsing Huskies vs. New Plymouth Pilgrims

Marsing is 0-10 against New Plymouth since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Marsing Huskies will be playing at home against the New Plymouth Pilgrims at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Even though Marsing has not done well against Nampa Christian recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Marsing narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Nampa Christian 31-28. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Marsing.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marsing to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adyson Chadez, who scored 13 points. The match was Chadez's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Lily Thoene was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Meanwhile, New Plymouth was able to grind out a solid victory over The Ambrose School on Friday, taking the game 47-38.

Zavier Lake was her usual excellent self, scoring 11 points along with nine blocks and seven steals. That's the first time this season that she posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Hope Hailey, who scored 14 points.

Marsing pushed their record up to 4-5 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for New Plymouth, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Marsing came up short against New Plymouth in their previous matchup back in January, falling 36-24. Can Marsing avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
