Football Game Preview: Antelope Titans vs. Yuba City Honkers + How To Watch

Antelope has gone a perfect 5-0 against Yuba City recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Titans will take on the Honkers at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, Antelope didn't have too much trouble with River Valley as they won 42-28. The Titans pushed the score to 35-14 by the end of the third, a deficit the Falcons cut but never quite recovered from.

Philip Goudeaux III was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 97 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 carries. Those 97 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of David Yakubovskiy, who rushed for 63 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Antelope was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 239 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Antelope's defense stepped up as well, laying out Jayden Walker three times. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: James Jacobson and Jerret Bryant Jr, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Meanwhile, Yuba City posted their closest win since September 20, 2024 on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 28-25 victory over Nevada Union.

Yuba City's win came from a few key players Antelope will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Dante Lepe, who picked up 183 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Yuba City also got a significant boost from Hank Watson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 133 yards.

Yuba City didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Cody Haase.

Antelope's record now sits at 3-7. As for Yuba City, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Antelope was able to grind out a solid victory over Yuba City when the teams last played back in September of 2023, winning 27-20. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Honkers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
