Haines City had won two straight games and Eddy Hyppolite Jr. did his part to make it three on Tuesday. The Haines City Hornets came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lake Wales Highlanders, sneaking past 71-68 thanks in part to Hyppolite Jr., who went 5 of 12 on his way to 19 points and six steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed six or more in the last three games he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Darrick Downing, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 11 points and three blocks. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

When it comes to explaining why Lake Wales lost, don't look at Siled Morris. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 17 on his way to 21 points. Jorge Ramirez was another key player, putting up 11 points and four steals.

Haines City's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-5. As for Lake Wales, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Haines City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 54-44 defeat against Ridge Community on the 9th. As for Lake Wales, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-51 loss against Lakeland on the 9th.
