Cherokee Trail proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Grandview Wolves. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since August 21st.

Cherokee Trail had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-27, 25-23, 25-20, 15-12.

Alize Flores was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 14 digs and four aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in August of 2024.

Cherokee Trail's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Grandview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-8.

Cherokee Trail didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Cherry Creek on the 27th. As for Grandview, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Mullen on the 25th.
