Softball Recap: Academy for Innovative Education Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Somerset Academy, Academy for Innovative Education was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Pembroke Pines Charter Jaguars by a score of 8-5. The Aviators have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Jaguars, too.

Alexa Garofalo was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Lily Gil, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Academy for Innovative Education hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pembroke Pines Charter struck out seven times.

Academy for Innovative Education's record now sits at 4-2. As for Pembroke Pines Charter, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.

Academy for Innovative Education didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-6 defeat against King's Academy on the 15th. As for Pembroke Pines Charter, they will square off against Cardinal Gibbons at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cardinal Gibbons' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Pembroke Pines Charter's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
