Basketball Game Preview: Phillips Loggers vs. Edgar Wildcats

Phillips hasn't had much luck against Edgar recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Phillips Loggers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Edgar Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. Phillips knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Edgar likes a good challenge.

Phillips easily dispatched Tomahawk on Saturday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Phillips fell just short of Athens by a score of 59-57 on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Loggers came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 204th, while the Bluejays are ranked 431st).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Edgar duked it out withStratford on Tuesday. The contest between Edgar and Stratford didn't end well, with Edgar falling 65-47. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Edgar's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Phillips, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5.
