Volleyball Game Preview: Lakeview Bulldogs vs. Northwest Indians

The Lakeview Bulldogs will take on the Northwest Indians in a tournament on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Lakeview saw some tournament action on Monday. Everything went their way against Trinity as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Lakeview was: they took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-15, 25-11.

Lakeview found their leader in freshman Ella Gough, who had ten digs and three aces. Gough has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last six times she's played.

Norton typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Northwest proved too difficult a challenge. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 3-0 victory. The game was the first time the Indians have beaten the Panthers on their court since September 9, 2019.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Northwest took every set by at least 25 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-0, 25-0, 25-0.

Lakeview's win bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Northwest, their victory bumped their record up to 10-13.

Lakeview came out on top in a nail-biter against Northwest in their previous meeting back in August of 2017, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
