Football Game Preview: Creek Valley Storm vs. Potter-Dix Coyotes

The Creek Valley Storm will head out on the road to square off against the Potter-Dix Coyotes on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Creek Valley is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against South Platte on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Storm were beaten by the Blue Knights 68-13. The Storm were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-6.

Although Creek Valley took the loss, they still got scores from Alvin Russell and Pj Schultz.

Meanwhile, Potter-Dix had to suffer through an 87-8 loss at the hands of Garden County. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Eagles are ranked second).

This is the second loss in a row for Creek Valley and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Potter-Dix, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Creek Valley has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 182.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Potter-Dix struggles in that department as they've been averaging 201.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Creek Valley was dealt a bruising 76-26 loss at the hands of Potter-Dix in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Storm avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
