League recap: Tolland extends undefeated streak to seven games

Tolland (14-6, 12-1) has won seven games in a row, Central Connecticut - East's longest active win streak. Three of those wins came in the past week, including a 14-0 win over Hartford Public.

Tolland went from 6331 to 5769 in the national rankings since last week after going 3-0 in the past seven days. The Eagles are currently No. 57 in the Connecticut state rankings, with an overall record of 14-6.

RHAM's pitching staff dominated this week, allowing only two hits and one walks, both of which led the league. The Sachems have given up a mere 68 hits on the year, while striking out 196 opposing hitters. Baylor Lapointe is the leader in that category with 79 Ks on the season.

Although the 33 runs scored by Edwin O. Smith topped the league, RHAM maintained its lead in the league with 130 runs this season.

The Panthers' Mark Tumosa finished his week with eight hits, tops in the league. On the season, he's hitting .333 and ranks sixth in the league with 20 hits.



Mark Tumosa had a multi-hit game on Wednesday, when he went 4-4 in Windham's 10-2 win against Edwin O. Smith.
