Baseball Game Preview: Parkway South Patriots vs. Westminster Christian Wildcats

The Parkway South Patriots will take on the Westminster Christian Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Parkway South is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

While Parkway South's victory against Lindbergh wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Patriots had just enough and edged out the Flyers 4-2.

Jordan Schneider made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Schneider was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

Schneider wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Andy Hertlein, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Westminster Christian won against Howell Central last Monday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again last Tuesday. The Wildcats' pitchers stepped up to hand Burroughs a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won seven contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Westminster Christian is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Parkway South, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6.

Parkway South came out on top in a nail-biter against Westminster Christian when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
