Recap: Greenwood Eagles vs. Easley Green Wave
The Greenwood Eagles's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They secured a 48-43 W over Easley. Given Greenwood's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Easley is ranked 83rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Greenwood found their leader in underclassman Ty Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Danielle Oliver was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Easley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Olivia Gramblin. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Gramblin is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for five games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Meya Mckinney, who scored seven points along with five assists and two steals.
Greenwood has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which somehow isn't as good as their 21-5 record this season. As for Easley, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-16.
Greenwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Easley, they will head out on the road to challenge A.C. Flora at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. A.C. Flora is coming into the match with four straight defeats at home, meaning Easley will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
