Basketball Recap: Misael Butler's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pine Forge Academy over Mercy Career & Technical

Pine Forge Academy lost against Mercy Career & Technical back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pine Forge Academy Falcons received a blow as they fell 46-30 to Mercy Career & Technical. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Misael Butler, who went 5 of 11 en route to 11 points along with eight boards and three steals. Butler has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Andres Trellis, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.

Even though they lost, Pine Forge Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Mercy Career & Technical had a senior duo take command as Anthony Caple posted 15 points and Taji Stewart had 15 points.

Pine Forge Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Mercy Career & Technical, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

When Pine Forge Academy and Mercy Career & Technical next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Pine Forge Academy will try to stop Mesivta's four-game winning streak when the meet at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Mercy Career & Technical will try to stop New Foundations' three-game winning streak when the meet at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
