Soccer Game Preview: Dexter vs. Skyline

The Dexter Dreadnaughts will venture away from home to square off against the Skyline Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Dexter's offense. They came up short against Saline on Tuesday, falling 7-0. The loss continues a trend for Dexter in their meetings with Saline: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Skyline had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 goals) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They never let the Kicking Mules get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Skyline considering their one-goal performance the game before.

Skyline pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those three matches. As for Dexter, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Dexter might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Skyline in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Dreadnaughts avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
