With a playoff win on the line, William Monroe rose to the challenge on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Culpeper County Blue Devils a 3-0 shutout. This was a revenge game for the Dragons: when they faced off against the Blue Devils back in March, they had to take a 7-2 loss.

William Monroe has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Culpeper County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-11.
