Basketball Recap: Appleton North's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Friday

Appleton North won the last time they faced Oshkosh North and things went their way on Friday too. The Appleton North Lightning came out on top against the Oshkosh North Spartans by a score of 58-46. Given the Lightning's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Spartans are ranked 258th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Appleton North's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Oshkosh North, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Appleton North will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Kimberly at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Oshkosh North and Green Bay Preble will round out the year against one another at at 3:00 p.m. on December 27th.
