Rosemount and Eagan are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Irish will head out to take on the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Rosemount's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Eagan's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Rosemount will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Farmington, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Irish came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tigers on Wednesday, sneaking past 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Irish have posted since May 28, 2024.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Eagan duked it out with Lakeville South on Monday. The Wildcats walked away with a 5-1 win over the Cougars. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Brody Illa spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits. Eagan is 2-1 when Illa allows three or fewer earned runs, but 5-8 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brandon Lunneborg, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Theo King, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Rosemount has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Eagan, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.
