Basketball Game Preview: Kewanee Boilermakers vs. Morrison Mustangs

The Kewanee Boilermakers will take on the Morrison Mustangs in a tournament on Friday. Kewanee is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.

Last Saturday, Kewanee didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Riverdale, but they still walked away with a 51-47 win.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Morrison). The stars were shining brightly for them in a 69-51 victory over Mercer County on Wednesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Kewanee has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for Morrison, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.

Everything came up roses for Kewanee against Morrison when the teams last played back in January of 2016, as the team secured a 77-42 win. In that game, Kewanee amassed a halftime lead of 34-12, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
