Basketball Game Preview: Piedmont Panthers vs. Union Academy Cardinals + How To Watch

The Piedmont Panthers will square off against the Union Academy Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Union Academy will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Piedmont extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday. The Panthers blew past Parkwood 54-27. With the Panthers ahead 38-12 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Piedmont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Charleigh Battle led the charge by going 7-for-15 on her way to 15 points and seven steals. Those seven steals gave Battle a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emily Lundquist, who posted nine points and five steals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Union Academy). They blew past Anson, posting a 69-31 victory. The Cardinals not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 18th (when they won 57-18).

Union Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Piedmont, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.

Piedmont took a serious blow against Union Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 62-14. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Panthers were down 33-6.
