Soccer Game Preview: Monroe vs. Cairo

Monroe is 0-8 against Cairo since February of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Golden Tornadoes will be playing at home against the Syrupmakers at 4:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Monroe's offense. They lost 10-0 to Peach County on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Cairo also failed to score in their most recent game. They fell 2-0 to Bainbridge on Thursday.

Cairo's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-4. As for Monroe, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Monroe suffered a grim 10-1 defeat to Cairo in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Golden Tornadoes were down 6-0.
