Meanwhile, Darien faced Wilton in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Blue Wave never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. The game was the first time the Blue Wave have beaten the Warriors on their field since May 17, 2022.
The result came thanks to Vivian Knott's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 18 Ks. Those 18 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Emma Hamilton was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella McCarthy, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Stamford's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Darien, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
