Basketball Recap: Whiteville Comes Up Short

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 51-22, which was the final score in the Whiteville Wolfpack's tilt against the Wilmington Christian Academy Patriots on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Wolfpack can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 515th, while the Patriots are ranked 233rd).

Whiteville's defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Wilmington Christian Academy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whiteville will take on Heide Trask at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wilmington Christian Academy, they will face off against Southeastern Christian Academy at 5:45 p.m. on Monday.
