Volleyball Recap: Bald Eagle Area Wins High-Profile Match Against Richland

Bald Eagle Area faced Richland in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 3-0 victory. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win the Rams walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

The victory didn't come easy: Richland scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-18, 26-24.

Bald Eagle Area had a senior duo take command as Casey Angellotti had 29 assists and eight digs and Nora Eppley had 20 digs. Angellotti has been hot, having posted 29 or more assists the last five times she's played.

Despite the loss, Richland still got an impressive performance from Hailey Buck, who had 14 digs and two aces.

Bald Eagle Area has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6-2 record this season. As for Richland, their loss ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 29-4-2.

As of now, neither Bald Eagle Area nor the Rams have any future games scheduled.
