Baseball Recap: Kress Takes a Loss

After soaring to 15 runs the game before, Kress was a bit more limited in their matchup on Monday. They came up short against the San Jacinto Christian Academy Patriots, falling 13-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-0 back in February.

Kress saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Morphis, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Kress dropped their record down to 2-9 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for San Jacinto Christian Academy, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 10-6 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kress will welcome Shamrock at 4:30 p.m. on March 25th. As for San Jacinto Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home field on March 25th against Tulia at 4:30 p.m.
