Basketball Game Preview: Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans vs. Liberty Lancers

The Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans are taking a road trip to challenge the Liberty Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fountain-Fort Carson has now lost 16 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 14.

Fountain-Fort Carson is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Doherty on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Fountain-Fort Carson was outmatched by Doherty and fell 75-48. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while the Spartans are ranked 35th).

Meanwhile, Liberty posted their biggest win since January 6th on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 70-46 margin over Pueblo West. The Lancers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

Liberty's victory bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-19.

Fountain-Fort Carson couldn't quite finish off Liberty when the teams last played on February 4th and fell 65-62. Can Fountain-Fort Carson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
