Basketball Recap: Kings Christian Skates Past Riverdale Christian with Ease

Kings Christian entered their tilt with Riverdale Christian on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They really took it to the Riverdale Christian Ambassadors for the full four quarters, racking up an 80-29 win. With the Crusaders ahead 55-15 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Kings Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elyas Miro led the charge by going 10 for 15 en route to 26 points in addition to five assists and four steals. The dominant performance gave Miro a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Andrew Ortega, who went 8 of 15 on his way to 18 points along with seven assists and seven steals.

Miro wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Kings Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Kings Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.2 points per game. As for Riverdale Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

Kings Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-43 victory against Avenal on the 27th. Riverdale Christian has also already played their next game (against Alpaugh), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
