Basketball Recap: Josiah Currie's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Grace Christian over Rolesville

Grace Christian was the 72-70 winner over Rolesville when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Crusaders fell 60-56 to the Rams on Friday. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Grace Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josiah Currie, who went 5-for-10 en route to 12 points in addition to six assists and four steals. DeNelly Coppedge was another key player, shooting 55% from the field to rack up 12 points and seven rebounds.

Grace Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Rolesville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Grace Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 63-54 win against Southern Wake Academy on the 29th. As for Rolesville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-34 victory against East Wake on the 2nd.
