Basketball Recap: Aveson Global Leadership Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Santa Fe last Thursday, Aveson Global Leadership Academy came back down to earth. The Aveson Global Leadership Academy Avengers took a blow against the Workman Lobos on Friday, falling 96-58. While losing is never fun, the Avengers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1025th, while the Lobos are ranked 316th).

Aveson Global Leadership Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Damondre Jenkins, who posted 17 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Charvel White, who had 16 points and three steals.

Aveson Global Leadership Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Workman, they pushed their record up to 13-3 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.

Aveson Global Leadership Academy and Southlands Christian will face off at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Aveson Global Leadership Academy is facing Southlands Christian at the right time seeing as Southlands Christian is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Workman, they will head out to challenge Fontana at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
