Basketball Recap: Camron Myers' Big Game Can't Quite Lead White Oak over Southwest Onslow

White Oak lost against Southwest Onslow last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The White Oak Vikings took a hard 66-51 fall against the Southwest Onslow Stallions. The matchup marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

White Oak lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Camron Myers, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Myers is becoming a predictor of White Oak's success: when he posts at least eight rebounds the team is 4-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Zarion Hobbs, who posted 11 points.

Southwest Onslow's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malekhi Hutchinson, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 19 points. Quaydon Holder was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.

White Oak has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for Southwest Onslow, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.

White Oak wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 66-40 victory against Dixon on the 28th. As for Southwest Onslow, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 52-48 win against Lejeune on the 28th.
