Basketball Recap: Sumter Gamecocks vs. Marion Swamp Foxes
Marion came into Saturday's matchup looking for another win against Sumter, but BJ Brown wouldn't allow it. The Sumter Gamecocks came out on top in a nail-biter against the Marion Swamp Foxes on Saturday, sneaking past 64-62 thanks in part to Brown, who went 13 of 22 on his way to 43 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Sumter's points.

Sumter will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Crestwood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sumter knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Crestwood likes a good challenge. As for Marion, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-31 loss against Oceanside Collegiate Academy on the 9th.
