Preview: Cuyahoga Heights Red Wolves vs. Lutheran West Longhorns
Cuyahoga Heights has been on the road for three straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Lutheran West Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cuyahoga Heights has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Cuyahoga Heights put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Brooklyn 53-22 on the road. Given Cuyahoga Heights' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 207th, while Brooklyn is ranked 739th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Lutheran West's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell to Cornerstone Christian 51-46.
Cuyahoga Heights has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for Lutheran West, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
Cuyahoga Heights came out on top in a nail-biter against Lutheran West in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, sneaking past 51-48. Will Cuyahoga Heights repeat their success, or does Lutheran West have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
