Brindlee Mountain gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Pennington Tigers 18-16. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted since March 18, 2024.
Brindlee Mountain got a massive performance out of Alli Persle, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-6. That's the most runs Persle has posted since back in February of 2024. Kaylie Mashburn was another key player, getting on base in all seven of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one triple.
Pennington is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
Looking ahead, Brindlee Mountain will be playing in front of their home fans against Falkville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pennington, they will head out to square off against Oneonta at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
