Volleyball Recap: Bear Creek Comes Up Short

Bear Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 21st straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Poudre Impalas. If the Bears were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Impalas when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Bear Creek sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 14-25, 17-15.

Thomas Amirah paced Bear Creek's offense, picking up 11 kills. Amirah got some help from Hannah Anderson and her 12 assists. Ella Meyers controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Bear Creek's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Poudre, the victory snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 6-4 record.

Coincidentally, Bear Creek and Poudre will both be playing Northfield the next time they take the court. The Bears will head out to face the Nighthawks at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Impalas will play them later in the day, at 10:00 a.m.
