Volleyball Game Preview: Leyden Eagles vs. Maine West Warriors

Leyden is 0-4 against Maine West since April of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Warriors at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Leyden is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They came out on top against Ridgewood by a score of 2-0.

Meanwhile, Maine West came tearing into Wednesday's game with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Blue Demons.

Maine West not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Maine East between 17 and 19 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-17.

Maine West's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 30-5. As for Leyden, their win bumped their record up to 15-19.

Leyden came up short against Maine West when the teams last played last Monday, falling 2-0. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
