Baseball Game Preview: Newark Academy Minutemen vs. Doane Academy

For the second straight game, Newark Academy will face off against Doane Academy. The Minutemen will venture away from home to challenge Doane Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Newark Academy earned a 5-1 victory over Doane Academy.

David Guadiane spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jared Levine was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Avery Sampson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Doane Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-6 record this season. As for Newark Academy, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.
