Preview: Lone Star North vs. Yavneh Academy Bulldogs
Lone Star North has been on the road for three straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Yavneh Academy Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Lone Star North played against Bishop Gorman and lost via forfeit.
It may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but Yavneh Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Lucas Christian Academy 53-51. The team ran away with 28 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the victory.
Sam Rael continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Fisherov, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Lone Star North's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Yavneh Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-5.
Lone Star North was taken down by Yavneh Academy 82-34 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Lone Star North was down 51-15.
