Basketball Game Preview: Mooresville Blue Devils vs. Lake Norman Wildcats

Mooresville is 0-10 against Lake Norman since January of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The Mooresville Blue Devils will host the Lake Norman Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Mooresville sitting on three straight victories and Lake Norman on 13.

Last Tuesday, Mooresville blew past A.L. Brown, posting a 70-38 win. With that victory, the Blue Devils brought their scoring average up to 50.4 points per game.

Cadence Lane went supernova for Mooresville, putting up 24 points. Lane continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Lilly Rumrill was another key player, scoring 14 points.

Lake Norman's victory was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 50.3 points. As for Mooresville, their win bumped their record up to 9-12.

Mooresville was dealt a bruising 90-29 loss at the hands of Lake Norman in their previous meeting back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Lake Norman's Rayana Minard, who went 9-for-13 on her way to 19 points and eight steals.
