Baseball Recap: Bishop McDevitt Find Success

While Bishop McDevitt put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Camp Hill. The Crusaders walked away with a 4-0 win over the Lions. This was payback for the Crusaders, who suffered a 4-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The result came thanks to Kayden Gelbaugh's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jett Daugherty, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Easton Comp, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

The victory made it two in a row for Bishop McDevitt and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Camp Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Bishop McDevitt will be playing in front of their home fans against Gettysburg at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Crusaders 3, the Warriors 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Camp Hill, they are taking a road trip to square off against Bermudian Springs at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
