Basketball Recap: Broughton Starts Season with Win on the Road + How To Watch

Broughton had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They breezed past the Green Level Gators to the tune of 79-50. The Capitals not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since January 7th (when they won 85-52).

Broughton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordan Page, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 17 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of George Coleman, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 18 points.

Broughton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 16 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Green Level lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Andrew Martinho, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Andrew Schall, who went 5-for-12 en route to 14 points and six boards.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Broughton will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Green Hope at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Green Level, they will challenge Wakefield at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
