Softball Game Preview: Resurrection Bandits vs. Evanston Wildkits

The Resurrection Bandits are taking a road trip to take on the Evanston Wildkits at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Resurrection managed to slip by Lane Tech the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bandits came up short against the Champions on Friday, falling 12-3.

Evanston not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 10th (when they won 24-7). Everything went their way against Payton College Prep as they made off with a 15-4 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildkits.

Delila Liston was incredible, firing off three home runs and six RBI while going 3-for-3. Those three home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Olivia Stanczak, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Evanston lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Resurrection's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Evanston, their win bumped their record up to 6-17.

Everything went Resurrection's way against Evanston in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Resurrection made off with a 14-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bandits since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
