Recap: Guernsey-Sunrise Vikings vs. Southeast Cyclones
The Guernsey-Sunrise Vikings kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They received a tough blow as they fell 44-28 to Southeast. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Guernsey-Sunrise in their matchups with Southeast: they've now lost seven in a row.
Southeast was led to victory by Ayden Desmond and TJ Moats. Desmond scored 14 points along with 8 rebounds, while Moats dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Guernsey-Sunrise's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Southeast, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Guernsey-Sunrise will be playing in front of their home fans against Minatare at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Minatare and Guernsey-Sunrise are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads. As for Southeast, they will head out on the road to face off against Tongue River at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Wyoming (Tongue River is ranked 16th, while Southeast is ranked 21st).
