It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Turlock Christian had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the Big Valley Christian Lions 4-3. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Cam Kelley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Kelley was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Kelley wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jake Dein, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Michael Miller was another, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Turlock Christian's record is now 14-5. As for Big Valley Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 14 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16-1 record this season.
