Baseball Recap: Polytechnic Comes Up Short

Polytechnic came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 8-1 to the Wyatt Chaparrals. The Parrots have struggled against the Chaparrals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Polytechnic saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mathew Ruiz, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Ruiz a new career-high in hits (three).

Polytechnic now has a losing record of 1-2-1. As for Wyatt, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Polytechnic has already played their next game, a 16-3 win against Carter-Riverside on the 25th. As for Wyatt, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 7-5 loss against Lake Worth on the 22nd.
