Jones came tearing into Thursday's match with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Nixon-Smiley Mustangs.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Jones took both sets by at least 13 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-10.

Jocelyn Rodriguez paced Jones' offense, picking up six kills. Rodriguez got some help from Khloe Avalos and her 11 assists. Avalos was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Jones' victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Nixon-Smiley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Jones will look to defend their home court on Friday against Refugio at 3:00 p.m. As for Nixon-Smiley, they will take on Runge at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
