Soccer Game Preview: Ceres vs. Lathrop

Ceres and Lathrop are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but likely not for long. The Ceres Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Lathrop Spartans at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Ceres is headed into Tuesday's following a draw, the team's first since December 12. Neither they nor Johansen could gain the upper hand on Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Ceres' goal came courtesy of Leo Baez, who's now up to five this season.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Lathrop's offense. They fell 2-0 to Grace Davis on Thursday. Lathrop has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ceres' draw makes their record 7-6-5 this season. As for Lathrop, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7-3.

Ceres took their victory against Lathrop in their previous meeting on January 3rd by a conclusive 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ceres since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
