Recap: Edgewood Cougars vs. Waynesville Spartans
The Edgewood Cougars suffered their biggest loss since December 13, 2023 on Saturday. They were dealt a 67-39 defeat at the hands of Waynesville. While losing is never fun, Edgewood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 321st, while Waynesville is ranked 49th).
Despite the loss, Edgewood still got an impressive performance from Rylie Homan, who scored 19 points along with five steals. Homan has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played.
Edgewood's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-8. As for Waynesville, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 17-0.
Edgewood will head out on the road to square off against Talawanda at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Waynesville, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Bellbrook at 7:15 p.m. on January 22nd.
