Central gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Furlow Charter School Falcons 90-42. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Leading Central to victory were Brannon Bussey and Brody Leonard. Bussey posted 23 points, while Leonard put up 20 points. Those 20 points gave Leonard a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ja'Quan Wilson, who scored 12 points.
Despite the loss, Furlow Charter School still got an impressive performance from Calvin Davis, who went 8-for-20 on his way to 23 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Thompkins, who had eight points.
Central will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Jordan at 12:30 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Furlow Charter School, they will take on Central Georgia Arts at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
