Softball Game Preview: Guy-Perkins Thunderbirds vs. Mt. Vernon-Enola Warhawks

Guy-Perkins hasn't had much luck against Mt. Vernon-Enola recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Thunderbirds will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warhawks at 4:30 p.m. Guy-Perkins has given up an average of 13.1 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Guy-Perkins fell victim to Wonderview and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 13-0 to the Daredevils. The game marked the first time this season in which the Thunderbirds were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mt. Vernon-Enola). They blew past White County Central 18-8 on Tuesday. The Warhawks haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Mt. Vernon-Enola's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Guy-Perkins, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.
