After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Garden Valley, Notus was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on the Rimrock Raiders with a sharp 21-11 victory. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won eight matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Emalee Thomas made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Thomas was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Notus got a massive performance out of Fatima Alvarez, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave Alvarez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cierra Norris, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and one triple.
Notus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .816. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Notus' win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-7. As for Rimrock, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-12.
